Week 11: 2/15-2/16
Hi Mogul Family,
THANK YOU! Our competition last week was awesome. We put down some good runs and everyone had a blast. Thank you to everyone who chipped in to help - also, big thanks to Nancy Logan and our Event Team, who were on the hill at 7 AM digging out the jumps each day. I can't wait to do it again in a few weeks - but we need to teach the athletes how to properly spray fake champagne on the podium. Also, congrats to all our A skiers who got to shred the recent Waterville World Cup course. All our athletes skied well - and it was cool for them to ski a course that the best athletes in the world skied only a few weeks ago.
Excuse me, is this the way to Willard? Here are a few things to note for the upcoming Willard Comp:
Course Inspection starts at noon.
We should get there for 11ish.
Plan for about 1.5 hours to get there.
Leaving Mount Snow around 9:30 is a good idea.
If you find yourself on a dirt road with farms on both sides and no mountain in sight - don't worry, you're just about there.
They will run the first run in the afternoon and the second run under lights - so there will be a decent break between runs.
Awards will be late - but they have a band to help pass the time.
It looks like we are all set up for a great tailgate - but we need to secure a trailside parking spot.
The Willard Head Coach, Dan Petteys was a Mount Snow team athlete, so please help out where we can - they have a small team with few volunteers.
Mike and Corey will be at Willard, I'm going to try to get there for the second run.
YouTube Live? It would be awesome to get a live feed for States. Does anyone have any experience with this?
When do States Invites Come Out? Next week I'll send out the details about State Championships.
A Team is Heading to Crotched: The A team is heading to Crotched next weekend for one last competition to secure points for Easterns and Junior Nationals. The lifts open at 9 AM at Crotched, so it makes this drive easier.
If You Rip, It's Good: One of the KMS coaches put this video together from the Mount Snow Competition. It gives a good perspective of what happens at the top of the course during a competition: https://m.youtube.com/watch?feature=shared&v=o_O9CYYFCEA
