Week 9: 2/1-2/2
Hi Mogul Family,
We had a great weekend of top-to-bottom training runs last weekend and all our A athletes made the performance cut on a tough course. I call that a success!! Now we're putting the final touches on prep for our competition this weekend.
We're Looking for a Few Volunteers This Weekend: We are looking for a few parents to volunteer to help out with our event. We are looking for 5 or 6 parents to help out with registration, in the Base Lodge from 7:30 - 9:00ish and then again just after the competition. These are indoor positions helping Nancy with Athlete check-in, Coach check-in, and other Registration-related things - and then help organize the awards after the competition.
We also could use some parents on the hill to prep the course prior to training and help with other activities throughout the comp. If you help on the hill, you will not miss your athlete's run! You will have to sign a waiver though. Nancy will have them at registration. And then jump on the 8 AM Canyon Express Lift to get to the course.
If you can help, please let Nancy and I know.
What'sApp for our Parent Crew: Thanks Rachel for setting up the WhatsApp group for our crew. Click this link to join the Mogul Crew 25 group: https://chat.whatsapp.com/LeLrG55EqGi9JXcFxpWg5Z
Update Your Info in WhatsApp: If you are already in the WhatsApp group, please update your profile with your name so we know who is communicating.
The Master Plan for the Weekend: The A skiers are competing at Waterville on the course that was just used for the World Cup. For the B team, please go to registration and check in on Saturday morning around 7:30. On both days, the coaches will be grabbing all the athletes at 8 AM at our normal spot. Check out the Event Info sheet on easternfreestyle.org for the event timing. The coaches will be on the course all day, so after your athlete's runs, we ask that the athletes stick around to cheer on the rest of the team.
Friday Training: The course will be open at noon on Friday for athletes to train. We will have coaches there - but we will not have "formal" training as the coaching staff will be getting the course prepped for the event - but we will be on the course keeping an eye on everyone.
We're Hosting State Champs: You heard right, Nancy and Genevieve were able to make the commitment for us to host State Champs on 3/1 and 3/2. Big thanks to Nancy and Gen. Note that the Jack Jump race will be on Charlies on 3/2, so the top of the course for our Dual Moguls is going to be a party!
We're looking forward to an amazing weekend at Mount Snow!
My Best,
-Laff
